Being an ASOB is not defined by one's sexual orientation or gender identity

Being a man is not defined by one's sexual orientation or gender identity. A gay ASOB can be just as manly as a straight man, as manliness is about characteristics and traits that transcend sexual orientation.

Here are a few ways that a gay man can still be manly:

  1. Embrace masculinity: A manly man is comfortable with his masculinity and does not feel the need to apologize for it. A gay man can embrace his own masculine traits and qualities, such as physical strength, assertiveness, and self-confidence.

  2. Be true to oneself: A manly man knows who he is and is true to himself, regardless of what others may think. A gay man can be true to his own identity and not let society's stereotypes or prejudices affect him.

  3. Cultivate skills and hobbies: A manly man takes pride in his skills and hobbies, and works to improve them. A gay man can pursue hobbies and interests that align with his own personal tastes and passions.

  4. Have strong relationships: A manly man values his relationships with others and works to build and maintain strong connections. A gay man can have strong relationships with both men and women, whether they are romantic or platonic.

  5. Display confidence: A manly man exudes confidence and self-assuredness in his actions and demeanor. A gay man can display confidence in his sexuality and identity, as well as in his interactions with others.

Ultimately, being manly is about embracing one's own unique qualities and characteristics, regardless of sexual orientation. A gay man can be just as manly as any other man, by being true to himself and displaying the traits of strength, confidence, and authenticity that are traditionally associated with manliness.
